Keyword Optimization
You’ve established your niche and know what keywords to target for, but please take a moment to re-optimize your keywords for maximum visitors and maximum advertising profits. SEO is all about the details and in the long run small changes will pay off.
Let’s start this off with an example:
Say I’m starting a site on SEO (which I actually am). People searching for SEO are interested in Search Engine Optimized Sites, Search Engine Optimizing or Search Engine Optimization and the numbers promise this to be a pretty profitable niche. But, wich version should I choose. Should I use Search Engine Optimization, Optimizing or Optimized for my page titles and page content.
This actually can make huge differences and a little research will tell you which form too choose. In this case it should be Search Engine Optimization as ‘optimization’ has a KEI of 0.000097 and a CPC average of $0.75. The word ‘optimized’ has a slightly lower KEI, but here the CPC is only $0.18. ‘Optimizing’ is even a lot lower on KEI and has a CPC of $0.15 and should therefore not be used.
For a site focused on budget travellers so basically: backpackers. The word backpacking should be used instead of backpackers or backpack (also because this would target people looking to buy a backpack).
These little optimizations can be easily dealt with and usually only result in re-reading an article and changing a couple of sentences.
