Microsoft Analytics: Code Name Gatineau

Microsoft is ceating a Free Analytics Tools. For now It's name is project Gatineau. Just like Google Analytics, Microsoft is going to launch it's own project that let's users analyse their websites for free.

It's still in Beta and what it does and how it works isn't clear yet, but the project has been confirmed by a microsoft employee, Ian Thomas.

This seems to be a huge project that is definetly going to take on Google Analytics. The aquisition of DeepMetrix allready gave it away a little last year, but nobody knew this was going to be a free tool.

But I guess Microsoft knows that Google is taking on some profitable markets and they must want a piece of it.

I'll keep up with the progress of this project and I'll let you know if anything new comes up.
